Australian-based Taiwanese boxer Yao Yi Ma won against Indian opponent Pradeep Singh after the referee stopped the contest in the eighth round in the main event of the Toe to Toe Boxing Promotions fight night at Vodafone Arena in Suva, Fiji.

Singh's corner threw in the towel a minute and 32 seconds into the round after the Indian Warrior, who is also based in Australia, was left staggering following a combination by Ma to Singh's head and body against the ropes. Singh's corner threw in the towel before the boxer could hit the floor as the referee stopped the contest.

After the match, Ma said he was confident of a victory from the very start. "I knew I could take him and I just did in there what my trainers taught me and I thank George Reno and Alex Wymarra. I have the best team in the world," he said. "During the match, I capitalised when I realised he was tired and fading and I was tired too but I kept on going. "As for future fights, I think I will have to go and defend my light middleweight IBF Pan Pacific title in Korea," Ma said.
